How to Join the Civil Air Patrol
There are many membership categories available to those interested in learning, serving, and being challenged.
The Civil Air Patrol cadet program is open to young people ages 12-18 to join. The program follows a rigorous curriculum of leadership training, character development, physical fitness, and aerospace education. Click on the photo above for more information on joining St Paul Composite Squadron as a cadet.
Those who are 18-118 may join Civil Air Patrol as a "senior member". Senior members perform all of the missions of the Civil Air Patrol. There is a wealth of professional development training and mentoring available, and senior members may serve as much or as little as their schedules allow.
Come and attend several meetings with us and we will help walk you through the application process.
Cadet Sponsor Member
Parents and Grandparents of current cadets are eligible to join in this category. Cadet sponsor members can participate as chaperones for squadron field trips and activities, but attending meetings and wearing uniforms is optional. Screening process is the same as for senior members.
Other membership categories available to new members include "Patron" (those who wish to support CAP financially but not actively participate), and "Aerospace Education Member" for teachers who wish to use CAP's aerospace curriculum and resources in the classroom (Home school educators are also eligible).
